2009 Season Opener Charity Fundraiser a Great Success
Watching the Patriots beat Kansas City 17-10 on a big screen television was only one of the highlights of the September 7th charity fundraiser held at the Cape Wind Waterfront Resort by the Falmouth Chamber’s Young Professionals. Dozens of people, young and old pros alike joined the festivities and took part in an afternoon of fun all to benefit the Falmouth Service Center. While some people enjoyed the warmth of a late summer afternoon to enjoy bocce and horseshoes, many others cooled off by swimming in the heated pool and cruising around shore in paddle and row boats. Many thanks go to Bob Crane, Jr. of Crane Appliance and Sound & Visionfor donating the use of the big screen television, D.J. Brian Laughhead of CapeEntertainment.com for providing the sound system and music, and American Tent & Table for bringing the party outdoors underneath a large tent. In addition to burgers on the grill, RJ’s Liquors supplied a hot dog cart and Taylor Rental provided a popcorn machine. Donations for prizes were donated by: Cute Cape Cod Girl, Cape Cod Beach Boards, Roobar, Landfall, Leeside, Captain Kidd, The Falmouth Chamber, Tan-O-Rama, Century 21 Shoreland, Arties Cafe, Quarterdeck, and StaplesThe event raised $400, as well as four boxes of clothing, seven boxes of canned goods and two 19” color televisions as a donation to The Falmouth Service Center. The Falmouth Chamber Young Professionals not only provide opportunities for people to meet and network, but are also committed to making a difference in our community by working with other civic minded organizations.
